很多人認為中國夢應該是Chinese Dream，而實際上，China Dream和Chinese Dream都可以，但是官方的表達是China Dream。隨著中國在國際上的影響力越來越大，中國夢這個詞也被炒的越來越熱。

“中國夢”的出處：

When Xi Jinping was inaugurated as China's President during the National People's Congress, he gave a speech on “the Chinese Dream”， according to People's Daily:

習近平在全國兩會上就職國家主席時，發表了一篇關于“中國夢”的演講。根據人民日報的報道：

“To achieve a comprehensively well-off society, to build a prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized, and harmonious modern socialist country and to attain the Chinese dream of the great renaissance of the Chinese nation is to achieve prosperity, revitalize the nation, and bring about the happiness of the people…”

“實現全面建成小康社會、建成富強民主文明和諧的社會主義現代化國家的奮斗目標，實現中華民族偉大復興的中國夢，就是要實現國家富強、民族振興、人民幸?！?/p>

中國夢的概念英語介紹：

China Dream is a phrase appearing during and after establishment of the new Chinese leadership in 2012-2013 used by the government and journalists in the People's Republic of China to describe the aspiration of self-improvement in Chinese society.

中國夢這個詞語是繼中國新一屆中央領導集體成立后在政府和媒體中頻繁使用的一個詞語，它用來激勵在中國社會中實現自我提高的那些人。

The concept of China Dream is very similar to the idea of “American Dream”。 It stresses the importance of entrepreneurial spirit. It also glorifies a generation of self-made men and women in post-reform China，such as those rural immigrates who moved to the urban centers and achieve magnificent improvement for improving their living standards. China Dream can be interpreted as the collective consciousness of Chinese people during the era of social transformation and economic progress.

中國夢和美國夢在觀念上具有很大的相似性，都強調艱苦奮斗的精神。中國夢也同時贊美在改革開放后自力更生的一代人，例如很多農村人為了更好的生活移居到城市中去謀發展。中國夢也被用來解釋為中國人在社會轉型

和經濟變革后的一種集體意識。

中國夢到底應該翻譯成China Dream還是Chinese Dream?

“中國夢”是當今最重要的一個話題，然而它的英文翻譯十分混亂，有的翻譯成“China Dream”，有的則是“Chinese Dream”。而且第一種譯法明顯占上風，各大媒體、宣傳廣告、甚至官方的同聲翻譯都用的是“China Dream”，然而正確的翻譯應該是“Chinese Dream”。理由陳述如下：

一、“China”是個國家概念，“Chinese”是個民族概念?！爸袊鴫簟钡慕浀涠x是“民族振興”和“偉大民族的復興”，它是攸關普天之下所有炎黃子孫的功業，包括海內外的所有華人，所以只有“Chinese Dream”才能準確表達出其核心意思。

二、“中國夢”是根據“美國夢”而來的，而“美國夢”的英文為“the American Dream”，而不是“the America Dream”。英文里，America（美國）對應于China（中國），都是指的國家；American（美國人）才對應于Chinese（中國人），都是指的屬于這個國家的人。所以，只有Chinese Dream才與American Dream能夠對應起來，兩者的表達才平行。

“中國夢”的真正規范英文應該是 “（the） Chinese Dream”，其中的定冠詞the在廣告用語或者書名中可缺省；因為是專有名詞，“Dream”的第一個字母要大寫。

“中國夢”的英語官方譯法為China Dream。有關中國的詞語很多，這里我們引申一下，a Chinaman's chance 指“勝算很小”；Chinese restaurant syndrome 指“<貶>中國餐館綜合癥”，暗諷中國飯菜質量差；Chinese whisper意思是“中國式耳語”，指在傳播過程中逐漸走樣的消息。
